Softball returns to Platt Lane.
The first MSL indoor softball session at Platt Lane Dome since 2018 was a great success. Twenty eight players, from rookies to GB internationals, took part in what was an enjoyable lunch time outing. The session came to a satisfying finish with a Home Run off the last pitch of the day, winning a tight final.
Batters begin with a 2-2 count (2 balls and 2 strikes) for play to progress at a faster pace and a more enjoyable game. The new cashless system for collecting player payments worked well, and whilst there were a couple of minor hiccups over team selections and sorting out the group game scores before the final these didn’t detract from the success of the session overall.
The dome sessions were an integral part of the Manchester softball scene for many years and it’s great to have them back. Sessions run each Sunday, noon to 2pm until the 2nd April.
