Notes
[1] A scoresheet from 20 July 1994, ie before official records began, shows Platt Field Pirates beating UMIST Hackers 62-2, a margin of 60. The record, whether 60 or 59, set before the introduction of the run-ahead (slaughter) rule in 2002, is unlikely to be broken.
[2] Home runs were first recorded in 2003, though it was not until 2005 that the details appeared in the Review, which is therefore the start date for home run records.
[3] Grand slams first noted in 2008.
[4] Full appearance records are relatively recent, but a streak of this many games is unlikely to have been achieved in the early days when, in any case, fewer games were played.
Perfect (or unbeaten) seasons
The 1999 Growlers won Division 2 unbeaten with a 12½-½ record, the tied game being due to a general cancellation of games.
In 2002 the Bounty Hunters went one better with a perfect 13-0 season in Division 3.
This achievement was topped by the 2004 Mutineers who had a 15-0 season in Division 2 and the Playoff Division. Didsbury Bats won Division 3 in 2017 unbeaten with 15 wins, as did Thunder II in 2019.
In 2015, Mavericks II in their inaugural season won Division 4 with 17 straight wins.
Even better were the 2008 Greensox who were champions with a perfect 18 wins in 2008.
Then Mayhem won the 2012 Division 3 title with 20 wins out of 20.
All these achievements have been surpassed by the Mavericks however, who won all 14 games in 2005 and again in 2006, eventually losing their 5th game of 2007 against the Greensox, who had been the last team to beat them back on September 8th, 2004: a run of 32 consecutive wins.
Winless seasons
The short-lived Insight Blaggers were the first to have a winless (full) season, in 14 games in 1997 in Division 2. Since then Swingers (14, 2019, Divs 4/5), Meteors (16, 2017, Divs 4/5), Bats (16, 2017, Div 2), Mutineers (17, 2016, Div 1), Bullfrogs (17, 2014, Div 1) and Thunder IV (17, 2023 Divs 3/4 and 4) have achieved this unwanted record. Worth mentioning are Freeze in 2023 (Div 2), who lost all their first 15 games, then in the final game scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie (bad light preventing extra innings), thereby avoiding a pointless season.
Shutouts
From the beginning of official records to the present date (21.8.24) there have been 58 shutouts in league and cup games, not including forfeits (59 including one in 2020).
There were no recorded shutouts before 1998, and then only 3 in the next 4 years (2 in 98, 1 in 99, none at all in 00 and 01). 2002 saw the introduction of the ‘mercy’ or ‘slaughter’ rule (officially ‘run-ahead rule’) since when there have been an average of 2.6 shutouts per year, perhaps because games are now ending before beleaguered teams can get their consolation late runs. 2009 saw a record 6 shutouts, while the period between 2012-16 saw the number rise slightly, to 3 or 4 per year.
The first recorded shutout: Tribe 30 Spirits 0 (6½ inns) – 6.5.98
The biggest shutout: Speeders 53 Eagles 0 (6 inns) – 20.5.98
The lowest scoring shutout: Outlaws 2 Greensox 0 – 15.5.13
Total shutouts achieved:
Mavericks 8, Greensox 5, Thunder 4(5*), Hackers 3, Hurricanes 3, Outlaws 3, Tigers 3, Camels 2, Lions 2, 18 other teams 1 each (* includes unofficial 2020 season)
Greensox have shut out Mutineers twice, Lions have shut out Camels twice, Thunder have shut out MoreLions/Bullfrogs twice, on both occasions 15-0
Shutouts suffered:
Phoenix 4, Bullfrogs/MoreLions 3, Vipers (original) 3, Bats 2, Bees 2, Camels 2, Lightning 2, Mutineers 2, Runners 2, Speeders 2, Spirits 2, Titans 2, Travelling Dodgers 2*, 19 other teams 1 each

Most-played fixtures
The most tested rivalry since records began in 1994 is between Mavericks and Greensox, who met 74 times, with Sox squaring the series in 2017, falling back, but then drawing level again in 2021. With Greensox folding in 2024, this total is now frozen. This is also the closest rivalry of fixtures that have been played 20 times or more, details of which follow. Hackers-Bats is the most-played game between founder members [1]. Totals include cup games.
