Screwballs

Born from a series of rookie training sessions in Didsbury in the spring of 2021, the Screwballs live up to their name: hard playing and hard partying. But always with an easy feeling toward a game we’ve all grown to love.

We’re a truly cosmopolitan and inclusive team that has featured players from nearly every continent, including Leeds. The Screwballs regularly participate as a group in Manchester Softball League play and are committed to several local 1 day or weekend tournaments throughout the British summer.

The Screwballs Club is also very proud to lend support each year individually and cohesively to the Alex Hall Memorial Tournament and several LGBTQ+ tournaments alike, respectively. We collectively view these events as important social events in both the UK softball calendar and Manchester support group initiatives.

To be a Screwball means to become part of a club off the field as well. As a member of the Pink and Blue Wrecking Crew, you can expect regular team bonding activities, events and both off-day and off-season training sessions that improve both the team and the player, whilst growing appreciation for the sport and the club.
