Standings Guide
- For all Standings Rules and Regulations, please visit the MSL Regulations Guide: Standings Rules.
- Wins are worth 2 points, T/U (indicating both Ties/Umpire Required Rest) are worth 1 point apiece.
- Umpire Required Rest occasions are also indicated in the R column.
- If you do not supply an Umpire for your designated Umpire Required Rest week, you receive 0 out of a possible 1 point. This is reflected in the T/U column, not the R column.
- PPD = Postponed Games
Tiebreakers
- PCT (see more below)
- Head-to-Head Results
- Runs Conceded (RC)
- Runs Scored (RS)
An explanation of PCT
PCT (short for Percentage) is calculated as Points Earned / Points Possible. See the following example for a hypothetical Week 5 tiebreaker…
- Therefore: Team A is currently ahead of Team B in the standings because their PCT is higher.
- Team A has played 4 games = 8 Possible Points. Add on 1 point possible for supplying at least 1 Umpire during their designated Umpire Required Rest week. That gives them 9 possible points at this stage of the season.
- Team A records 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 Umpire Required Rest. The 2 wins give them 4 points, and the Umpire Requested Rest week gives them 1 point. The PCT equation is 5 points earned / 9 points possible. Ergo, PCT = .556
- Team B has played 5 games = 10 Points Possible. Add on 0 points possible for Umpire Required Rest weeks, because none have been designated to Team B yet. That gives them 10 possible points at this stage of the season.
- Team B records 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 Tie. The PCT equation is 5 points earned / 10 points possible. Ergo, PCT = .500
